Bell launches a $55/80GB plan amid plan shuffle

Bell has shuffled around some of its lower-end plans and has introduced a new $55/80GB plan.
This new plan, which falls in the “Lite” spot in the Bell lineup, includes unlimited Canada-wide talk, text, and data, SD video streaming cap, and hotspot capabilities. This plan also features standard reduced speeds of up to 512 kbps after you reach 80GB.
Unfortunately, this plan isn’t Canada/US/Mexico-wide, unlike what the telecom giant has done at this price point before. If you want to get a Canada/US/Mexico-wide plan, you will have to make the step up to the “Max” tier.
Speaking of the different tiers, Bell looks to have reshuffled its price points a little bit with this latest plan. Every price point seems to have dropped by $25, with the highest-priced plan now at $85/mo, down from $110.
Alongside this, the $65/175GB ‘Max’ plan now has Canada/US/Mexico capabilities, which iPhoneinCanada notes it didn’t previously have.
With this in mind, here are the new rate plans:
- Lite: $55/80GB at up to 1GBps, unlimited talk/text/data Canada-wide, SD video streaming, hotspot capabilities.
- Select: $60/100GB at up to 1GBps, unlimited talk/text/data Canada-wide, SD video streaming, and hotspot capabilities.
- Max: $65/175GB at up to 2 GBps, Canada/US/Mexico-wide talk/text/data, unlimited minutes for calls to 27 countries, HD video streaming, and hotspot capabilities.
- Ultra: $85/250GB at up to 2GBps, unlimited talk/text/data in Canada, and 65 other countries and territories, unlimited calling to the previously-mentioned 65 countries and territories, HD video streaming, and hotspot capabilities.
Personally, if I were in the market for a new plan, I would wait for any new promotions to kick in, but this is something to keep in mind in case you really need to switch.
