Xbox dashboard gains new customization with pinnable games on Home screen – YugaTech Gaming

Microsoft is rolling out a host of Home screen upgrades for Xbox consoles, giving players unprecedented control over their dashboard layout. Starting this week, Xbox Insiders can pin up to three of their favorite games or apps directly to the Home UI, ensuring these go-to titles remain readily accessible even as other content shifts to the background.

According to Eden Marie, Principal Software Engineering Lead for Xbox Experiences, the new pins “stay near the front of the list as you launch other things, giving you quick access to your go-to titles.” In addition to pins, Insiders will soon have the option to hide system apps from their Home screens, decluttering the view and letting gamers focus solely on the software they actually use.

Beyond hiding apps, the update lets players tailor how many tiles appear in their “Recently Played” section and even adjust the size of those tiles for a more compact or expansive layout. Marie says these changes stem directly from community feedback: “We’ve heard from many of you that Home should feel more like your space. Whether it’s surfacing your favorite games, hiding what you don’t use, or simply making Home feel less crowded, this update is a direct response to that feedback.”

This marks the latest in a series of major dashboard overhauls since 2022’s UI refresh, which introduced richer backgrounds, faster navigation to games and settings, and deeper integration with the Xbox Store. With this week’s additions, Xbox aims to join other platforms—like PlayStation’s Control Center and Nintendo’s custom gamer profiles—in offering console owners a more personalized interface.

While initially limited to the Xbox Insider Program, these Home screen enhancements are expected to reach all Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles later this year. Players eager to reorganize their dashboard for quicker game launches and a cleaner look may want to sign up for the Insider rings now to test the features early.
