How to Obtain Lightsabers in Fortnite's Galactic Battle Season
To find a Lightsaber in Fortnite, players should engage with hologram NPCs such as Rey, Emperor Palpatine, Mace Windu, or Darth Maul during training sessions. After the first storm circle closes, holograms will appear at various spots marked by lightsaber icons on the map—blue for Rey, red for Palpatine and Maul, purple for Windu.
Interacting with these characters triggers cinematic moments where players enter rifts to emerge wielding lightsabers along with unique Force abilities. Rey typically appears near resistance Base or Rebel Outpost while Palpatine is found around First Order Base. Players can also challenge Darth Vader at his location called Vader’s Samurai Solitude in the southwest corner of the map.
If players defeat Vader along with his samurai guards, thay can converse with him afterward to receive his iconic lightsaber along with a powerful Force ability after another rift sequence concludes. Additionally, players may collect lightsabers from defeated enemies; however, these won’t come equipped with Force abilities which limits their effectiveness in battle.

Lightsabers are legendary melee weapons that deal 40 damage per swing. Players can perform combos including two swings (40 damage each),three spin attacks (20 damage each),plus one powerful slam attack dealing 150 damage total.These weapons allow users not only to block blaster shots but also increase sprint speed while enabling Force Jump—a double jump without fall damage risk.
- The Jedi Padawan Lightsaber: Acquired from Rey's hologram; it grants Force Push—a shockwave that knocks back enemies but doesn’t inflict direct harm (15-second cooldown).
- Sith Apprentice Lightsaber (Red): Gained through Emperor Palpatine's hologram; unleashes Force Lightning causing 30 damage per second over distance (18-second cooldown).
