Spotify Canada Unveils 2025 Global Impact List
Spotify Canada has just unveiled its 2025 Global Impact List, showcasing Canadian musicians whose tracks have resonated with audiences beyond their home turf. Notably, three of the top ten most-streamed international artists on this list are from Canada, including the talented tate McRae and the iconic Drake.
Tate McRae's Rising Stardom
Tate McRae has made a notable mark with two of her songs landing in the global top ten.Her hits Sports Car and Revolving Door are ranked second and ninth, respectively. As her debut in 2020, McRae has enjoyed remarkable success early in her career. By February 2021, her first EP Things I Never Said had already surpassed an remarkable 400 million streams. She was also named Spotify Canada's equal ambassador and celebrated with an exclusive listening event for her third studio album Think Later.
The Ongoing success of Drake
Diving into Drake's journey, he recently faced a lawsuit against universal Music regarding claims that they where promoting kendrick Lamar’s diss track Not Like us.. Despite this controversy, his song Nokia, from his latest album, secured fifth place on the global impact list. Another track from that same album titled Die Trying, while popular in Canada at sixth place on our local chart, did not make it to the global rankings.
