Tate McRae grabbed two spots in Spotify’s 2025 Global Impact List

Spotify Canada has released its 2025 Global Impact List, which highlights Canadian artists whose music was heavily played by users outside of their home country. Spotify noted that three of its top 10 most-streamed international artists hailed from Canada, including Tate McRae and Drake.

McRae has two songs landing in the global top 10, with Sports Car and Revolving Door sitting at number two and number nine, respectively. McRae, who made her debut in 2020, has seen a large amount of success to start her career; her debut EP Things I Never Said surpassed 400 million streams by February 2021, being named Spotify Canada’s Equal ambassador, and Spotify hosted an exclusive listening party for her third studio album Think Later.

Drake, coming off a lawsuit against Universal Music for pushing Kendrick Lamar’s diss track Not Like Us, sees his track Nokia score fifth on the global top 10. Another track off the same album, Die Trying, scored sixth on the impact list for Canada, but failed to crack the global list.
