Spotify Enhances User Control with New Features
Spotify is widely recognized for its excellent music proposal system. Recently, the platform introduced new features that empower users to manage their playlists more effectively.Among these updates is a Snooze feature, allowing users to take a break from frequently played songs for 30 days.
Introducing the Snooze feature
Even with Spotify's impressive algorithm, many users have experienced songs that seem to play repeatedly throughout the day.The new Snooze feature addresses this issue by enabling Premium subscribers to pause songs they find overplayed for an entire month. During this period, those tracks will not appear in any recommendations.After 30 days, listeners can choose to reintroduce the song or snooze it again if they still prefer not to hear it.
Permanent Solutions: Hide and Block Options
For those seeking a more lasting fix, Spotify offers additional options like the Hide button. This allows users to prevent specific songs from appearing in certain playlists altogether.If there’s an artist you don’t enjoy at all,you can block them entirely so their music won’t be suggested anymore.
Enhanced Queue management
Premium members now have greater control over their song queue as well. Previously, once your queued list finished playing, Spotify would automatically start suggesting random tracks without prior notice. Now these recommendations will be visible at the end of your Queue list so you can decide which ones you want to keep or remove before they play next. If you'd rather not receive any suggestions after your queue ends, simply turn off Autoplay in your settings.
Additionally, just like regular playlists, users can utilize Shuffle and Repeat functions on their Queue songs and set a Sleep Timer if desired.
Improved Playlist Management on Mobile
Spotify has also made some changes regarding playlist management on mobile devices by adding buttons for Add, Sort, and Edit at the top of each playlist page. Users located in countries such as the United States and Canada can now create playlists directly from their Liked Songs collection.
Future Availability of Features
Currently available only for Premium subscribers during testing phases is the Snooze feature; though, Spotify plans to roll it out more broadly soon—so keep an eye out for updates!
