I had the chance to explore nine out of ten color options at a recent preview event in New York City. Each color draws inspiration from different Pantone shades,which are reflected in their official names. Let’s dive into what colors are available for each model and my personal favorites!
Best Color for the Razr 2025
Starting with the entry-level Razr 2025, this phone still shines with its unique color choices. Last year featured a bold orange option that was quite popular. This time around, Motorola has introduced new colors that maintain that flair.
all four variants come with a soft leather-like finish on the back. If you prefer something subtle yet stylish, consider the Gibraltar Sea model in deep navy; it pairs well with any outfit. For those who want something lighter without being too flashy,there's Lightest Sky—a white finish adorned with a delicate pattern and matching front design.
On the bolder side are two more vibrant options: Parfait Pink—a light pink we didn’t get to see—and Spring bud—a lovely light green shade that's currently my favorite among these choices.
Best Color for the Razr Plus 2025
Next up is the Razr Plus 2025 which offers three color options—two familiar from last year's lineup. The previous flagship was my top pick last year due to its hot pink variant; this year's version continues that trend.
This model also features Mocha Mousse—the Pantone Color of Year—which presents as a rich brown tone that's less flashy but still makes an impression. The third option is Midnight Blue; it has two-tone detailing on its back reminiscent of racing stripes.
Since I loved both Magneta and Hot Pink from last year’s release, I’m excited about this year's Hot Pink variant as well—it closely resembles last year's design but has slight updates in texture on its rear leather finish.
Best Color for the Razr Ultra 2025
Now let’s look at the newest addition—the first ultra flip phone ever made by Motorola! To mark this occasion, they’ve introduced an extraordinary range of colors and finishes within their lineup.
First up is Pantone Scarab—this shade may appear dark blue online but actually reveals itself as an intriguing greenish-brown hue when seen up close. It features alcantara leather sourced exclusively from Italy—marking another first for smartphones—but it's not my top choice among these four options.
returning favorites include Rio Red—a classic red reminiscent of past models—and Cabaret—a stunning pink similar to previous releases but updated slightly in texture and design details while keeping much of its original charm intact.
A unique feature making a comeback is wood finishing seen previously on Moto X devices years ago now presented as Pantone Mountain Trail on this new Ultra model. Unlike others in this series featuring leather backsides, it uses FSC-certified wood ensuring sustainability while offering durability along with style—but I wish they had chosen darker woods like teak or mahogany instead!
While I'm drawn towards how distinctive wood looks compared to conventional materials used hear before—I do wonder about grip levels since it lacks some traction found typically within leathers used across other models offered today! However easy access into pockets might be improved thanks largely due ease cleaning properties associated naturally occurring surfaces like these ones do provide over time too!
