Merriam-Webster Joins the Fun: Try Their New Daily Wordle Challenge!

Merriam-Webster Introduces a New Puzzle Game: Revealed
Merriam-Webster has launched a new daily puzzle game called Revealed, following the success of similar games like Wordle. This free online game challenges players to guess a topic based on descriptions with missing words.
The Concept Behind Revealed
As the creator of one of the most famous dictionaries, it’s no surprise that Merriam-webster would develop its own word game. even though this comes years after Wordle gained popularity and inspired many other daily puzzles, Revealed stands out as an engaging option worth exploring.
How to Play revealed
Each day, players receive a page featuring a category at the top, such as Arts & Culture. Below this heading is an encyclopedia entry with several words blacked out. Players must use context clues to figure out what is being described. At first glance, this can be tricky; though, hints are available to assist players in their guesses.
Players can use up to seven hints each day. These hints reveal redacted words or even letters from the topic itself. The objective is to guess the correct topic while using as few hints as possible.
example Gameplay Scenario
To illustrate how it works, let’s imagine one day’s answer is Super Mario Bros. The page might start with something like “ is a released in .” You won’t be able to uncover the first blank right away but if you choose to reveal the second blank and get “video,” you might deduce that it refers to “game.” Instead of confirming that by revealing another word immediately, you could opt for another hint instead—perhaps revealing details about its release year—until you gather enough clues for your final guess.
At the end of each round, players can view their performance stats and compare them with others’. Lifetime statistics such as completion rates and streaks are also tracked.
