I had a feeling something big was coming! ahead of WWDC 2025,I urged Apple to finally bring true multitasking to iOS and iPadOS. Exciting New Features in iPadOS 26
Apple made a smart move by renaming its operating systems alongside critically important updates across all platforms. The introduction of Liquid Design brings fresh visuals from visionOS to every device within Apple's ecosystem.

However, there are also exciting enhancements in three main areas: Multitasking, Files management, and Audio/Video capabilities. A major drawback users faced when comparing the functionality between an iPad and Mac was limited background task support on earlier versions of iPadOS.With this latest update—aimed at attracting more creative professionals—the new multitasking feature allows apps to run background tasks seamlessly if they choose to support them.As an example, imagine exporting video footage using Final Cut Pro while simultaneously working on another project without interruptions!

As Apple first pitched the idea of using an iPad as your primary computer device years ago (especially after discontinuing smaller MacBook Air models), I’ve been eager for true multitasking capabilities on these tablets—something we now finally have thanks to this latest update!
The initial iterations offered limited productivity options like SlideOver or PopOver windows but lacked robust file management systems akin to what Macs provide—a gap now filled by this release!

Kudos go out again towards improving cursor functionality as well; previously oversized cursors morphed awkwardly depending upon context—but no longer! I’ve long envisioned utilizing my tablet as portable computing power since owning my very first model back then while juggling retail work alongside blogging efforts daily—it wasn’t easy battling quirks preventing seamless operation even after adding keyboards later down line until now thanks largely due revamped Files submission plus brand-new Preview toolset introduced here today making everything feel cohesive once again!
The updated Files app resembles Finder found within Macs but optimized specifically for touch interactions allowing easier access throughout various folders/files stored locally versus cloud-based
