Crunchyroll Announces Price Increase for canadian Subscribers
Crunchyroll is set to raise its subscription prices in several countries, including Canada.On Monday,the anime streaming service owned by Sony revealed that all membership tiers will see a price hike. While the declaration primarily focused on U.S. pricing, details regarding the new rates for Canadian users have been confirmed.
New Pricing Structure Revealed
- Fan Plan:
Monthly: $10.99 (up from $9.99)
annual: $109.99 (previously $99.99) - Mega Fan Plan:
Monthly: $13.49 (previously $12.49)
Annual: $134.99 (up from $124.99)
The updated prices will take effect on Febuary 2 for new subscribers, while current members will notice changes at thier next billing cycle after March 4, 2026.
A Long-Awaited Adjustment
This marks Crunchyroll's first price increase in Canada as 2022 and comes shortly after the platform discontinued its free plan earlier this year.
To help ease existing subscribers into these new rates,Crunchyroll is offering a special promotion that allows users to switch to an annual plan at a discounted rate of $82.99—equating to just about $6.91 per month when billed annually.
The Ultimate Fan Experience Coming Soon
Additions are also on the horizon for Canadian fans as Crunchyroll plans to introduce its Ultimate Fan tier soon in Canada—a feature currently available onyl in the U.S.
This premium tier includes everything offered in previous plans along with access to hundreds of manga titles and exclusive discounts of 15% off select items from the Crunchyroll Store.
Subscribers can also look forward to receiving an exclusive swag bag after maintaining their subscription for twelve consecutive months and more exciting perks!
