Canadian streams of Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympics tripled from 2022
CBC has announced that digital streams of Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games were more than triple compared to the viewership for Beijing 2022.
In total, Canadians watched 1.63 million streams of Milano Cortina 2026 content on CBC/Radio-Canada digital and streaming platforms, versus 526,000 for Beijing 2022. CBC Gem streams also rose over 500 per cent compared to Beijing 2022. Overall, 10 million viewers tuned in across the 10-day 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.
This year, 50 athletes competed for the Canadian Paralympic Team and took home 15 medals: three gold, four silver, and eight bronze.
Last month, CBC revealed that 30.5 million Canadians tuned into the Milano Cortina Winter Games, which was also triple Beijing 2022’s viewership. 206 athletes competed for Team Canada and won 21 medals: five gold, seven silver and nine bronze.
With Milano Cortina fully wrapped, Team Canada will now look towards 2028’s Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and 2023’s Winter Olympics in the French Alps.
