How to Play Connections
Connections is all about finding links between words. Players need to choose four groups of four words while making no more than three mistakes.
You can access Connections through the New York Times website or via the NYT Games app available for iOS and Android devices.
When you start playing, you'll see a grid filled with 16 words. Your goal is to organize these into four sets of four by identifying how they connect. These connections could relate to various themes such as movie titles, types of fruit, or colors.Some words may seem suitable for different categories; though, there’s only one correct grouping for each puzzle. You have the option to shuffle the word grid if needed for better clarity on potential connections.
Each group has its own color code: yellow indicates an easier group while green follows it in difficulty; blue and purple are generally harder.
to make a guess, select your four words and click Submit. If you're right, those words will disappear from the grid along with their theme revealed. An incorrect guess counts as one mistake against your total limit of three mistakes before losing the game.
