Exciting News for Esports: Wild Rounds Returns
Riot Games Philippines is back with thrilling news for the local esports community. The second season of Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open is set to launch, and it promises to be even more exciting than before. This grassroots tournament for League of Legends: Wild Rift will kick off registration for Split 1 on May 10, featuring a remarkable prize pool of ₱1.5 million. The competition will run from Q2 to Q4 in 2025.
Aiming Higher with Season Two
The first season was a great success, and now Riot aims to build on that momentum. Wild Rounds: Pilipinas is designed to enhance the local Wild Rift scene by giving amateur players a chance to shine.The upcoming edition will consist of three splits, each featuring open qualifiers, group stages, and intense elimination rounds. The grand finale will take place live on July 5.

Joel Guzman,country Manager at Riot Games Philippines,highlighted the importance of this year’s event in supporting the growing communities around Wild Rift in the country. He stated that aligning with Riot's global schedule ensures that local events provide top-notch gaming experiences.
Tournament Schedule Overview
The action kicks off with bracket drawings on June 9, followed by Group Stage matches throughout mid-June. As excitement builds up,Top 16 and Top 8 matches are scheduled for June 28 and June 29 respectively before heading into national finals.
Expanding Grassroots engagement
This year also sees Riot PH expanding its grassroots initiatives through various activities:
- Wild Rift Wednesdays: A weekly community stream started in April where fans can join popular creators for casual games and fun interactions.
- Ground Zero Tournament Series: Regional competitions starting this May until October aimed at showcasing emerging talents from local areas.
An All-Star Event Returns
The excitement doesn’t stop there! Wild Rounds: Smash, an all-star invitational event by Riot Games, is making its return this year as well.This special event will feature elite pro teams alongside celebrity streamers while introducing new mechanics and an updated tournament format.

This October marks the fifth anniversary of wild Rift! To celebrate this milestone, fans can expect exclusive in-game events along with community rewards and surprise content releases that honor five years filled with competitive spirit and memorable moments within the Philippine mobile MOBA scene.
