Bungie has been a key player in the frist-person shooter (FPS) genre for over ten years, especially after changing the live-service game scene with Destiny. The studio's recent announcement about Marathon, a revival of one of its earliest franchises, has generated significant excitement. This new title is an extraction shooter featuring distinct Runner classes and immersive worlds filled with action and exploration.Set to launch in September, fans are eager for its release. To build anticipation, Bungie is offering players a chance to participate in an early closed alpha test.
How to Participate in the Closed Alpha
The closed alpha for Marathon will take place from April 23 to May 4.However, this opportunity is limited to selected participants only. Unlike open tests that allow anyone to join, this requires some effort on your part.
Eligibility for the Marathon alpha test includes being at least 18 years old and residing in North America. Players can join on PS5, xbox Series X/S, or PC using a Bungie.net account.
Steps to Join
Step 1: Begin by joining the official Marathon Discord server and navigate to the ”alpha_access” channel.
Step 2: In that channel, type “/alpha.” A bot will respond with prompts asking you questions needed for registration.
step 3: After answering those questions, follow the link provided by the bot and log into your Bungie.net account.
Step 4: Choose your gaming platform and agree to the non-disclosure agreement (NDA). You’ll also need to consent to receive emails about the alpha test. There might potentially be additional questions before you’re advised to check your email for updates.
Bungie plans on sending out emails starting April 18 throughout the testing period; therefore, even if you're not selected initially, there’s still hope of getting access later on.
No Progress Carryover
Please note that any progress made during this alpha phase will not transfer over when Marathon officially launches.All players will begin their journey from scratch once it releases publicly.
