He noted that while the device will not include onboard Apple Intelligence, it will still receive several AI-driven features.Although there won't be a major redesign for the watch, users can expect some new interface elements that hint at larger changes happening within Apple.
What to Expect at WWDC
apple plans to reveal more details about these updates during its Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC). Gurman mentioned that two key topics will dominate this june event: Apple Intelligence and a new design language called Solarium.This design language is set to affect iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

Gurman clarified that while the upcoming watchOS 12 software won’t integrate direct use of Apple Intelligence in the watch itself, there will be features branded as “powered by Apple Intelligence.” This means that even though these features are influenced by AI technology, they do not run AI models directly on the device.
