Rogers Satellite now supports Facebook Messenger and onX

Last year, Rogers launched its satellite service, and since then, the carrier has been steadily expanding it and providing new features. Now, Rogers Satellite supports Facebook Messenger and onX.

With the update, Canadians can check in via Messenger by sending voice notes, video calls or texts. And with onX, they can access offline maps, trail data, and get real-time weather.

Rogers says that it’s been seeing a lot of usage in off-grid hotspots like Algonquin Provincial Park, Banff National Park, Kananaskis Provincial Park, and the Garibaldi Provincial Park/Sea-to-Sky region.

Rogers Satellite also supports WhatsApp, Google Maps, Accuweather, X, and text to 911. The service is powered by Starlink and is included in some Rogers plans at a free or discounted rate for a limited time. Rogers Satellite regularly costs $15/mo.
